About the features of wheel bolt patterns on Peugeot cars
Reading time: 4 minutes
The wheel bolt pattern of the Peugeot 308, like any other model from the manufacturer, is a very important parameter. It allows you to find out how the disc is attached to the vehicle's suspension components. The dimensions and characteristics of this vehicle allow the installation of wheels with diameters of 15 and 16 inches. However, the size of the wheel arches allows the car to be operated on wheels increased to 17 inches. By choosing the right products for the Peugeot 308, you can improve the exterior, as well as improve the handling and ride characteristics of this French car.
Dimensions of the Peugeot 307 car - body, wheels and rims
Let's look at the dimensions of the Peugeot 307 car and find out how the car behaves in cramped conditions of city traffic jams and narrow streets.
Some car enthusiasts believe that the larger the dimensions of their vehicle, the more solid and impressive the car looks. To some extent they are right. But maybe big cars feel more comfortable on the highway and off-road?
In the cramped conditions of megacities with the eternal problems of traffic jams, congestion and parking, small cars take advantage of maneuverability. These include a line of French cars.
Model bolt pattern parameter and its meaning
Peugeot 308 is considered a good car for tuning. Almost all improvements start with the wheels and tires. Improving any vehicle is an important and responsible procedure, which as a result will significantly improve factory performance. The so-called tuning, which is performed by replacing factory parts and components with new unique ones, gives the car sportiness and visual appeal.
Peugeot 308 wheel bolt pattern, product appearance
Almost always, improving the exterior is achieved by replacing wheel rims, which are most responsible for the appearance of any vehicle. Their size, shape and color can radically change the exterior. Well-chosen and high-quality wheels can both decorate a car and make it less attractive. It depends on the level of the brand, the quality of selection and other factors.
Improving the attractiveness of your own car is not always as important as the quality of the procedure itself. A machine with incorrectly selected parts and components can become a vehicle with an increased danger for pedestrians and passengers. It is very important that improvements installed on a car do not reduce the efficiency of its operation. It is recommended to use only those spare parts that meet all necessary quality standards and safety requirements.
It is recommended to purchase only original components from official brands. For example, the wheel bolt pattern of a vehicle must be exactly as indicated in the technical documentation for it, and also correspond to the factory-installed wheel and tire sizes. Inconsistencies in these parameters and dimensions lead to incorrect and unsafe operation. In addition, if you don’t get the wheel rims right, they simply won’t secure. In such cases, car owners use adapter rings, which allow them to select the required diameter of the central hole. In this case, the operation of the car will not be safe.
In some sources you can find the name drilling. It is a regular bolt pattern setting, just with a different name. The bolt pattern of any car is designated by the English abbreviation PCD. To make the term easier to understand, the following rule is used: drilling is equal to the number of bolts and the diameter of the circle on which the holes for them are located. The number of bolts is counted in pieces, and the diameter in millimeters. For example, the bolt pattern of the Peugeot 307, its predecessor car, is also 4x108. This means that the disk is secured with four bolts, the holes for which are located around a circle with a diameter of 108 millimeters.
Incorrectly selected tires or wheels for any car model are a high risk and a threat to the safety of the driver and passengers.
Peugeot 307 bolt pattern
Parameters of alloy wheels
PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) diameter and the number of these holes.
For example, PCD100/4 – 4 holes with a diameter of 100 mm.
Since the mounting holes are made with a significant tolerance plus in diameter, you can make a mistake in choosing a PCD if it differs from the standard one by a couple of millimeters. For example, a PCD98/4 wheel is often put on a hub with PCD100/4 (98 mm from 100 cannot be distinguished by eye). It is unacceptable. In this case, of all the nuts (or bolts), only one will be fully tightened; the remaining holes will “lead away” and the fasteners will remain untightened or tightened skewed - the fit of the wheel on the hub will be incomplete. While driving, such a wheel will “beat”, in addition, not fully tightened nuts will unscrew by themselves.
Determining PCD by distance between bolt holes
DIA – diameter of the central hole for the hub or the central hole of the disk
ET – offset (or offset) of the disk (measured in mm).
This is the distance between the longitudinal plane of symmetry of the disk and the plane of the hub. The offset can be zero (the plane of symmetry of the disk coincides with the plane of the machine hub), positive (the plane of symmetry of the disk is closer to the center of the machine than the plane of the hub - as in the figure) and negative (further). For each car model, the offset is calculated by the manufacturer to ensure optimal stability and controllability of the car, as well as the least load on the hub bearings. The Germans designate the offset ET (for example, ET30 (mm), if its value is positive, or ET-30, if negative), the French - DEPORT, manufacturers from other countries usually use the English OFFSET. The desire to install wider low-profile tires that have appeared in recent years (sometimes on larger R-size wheels) leads to the fact that you have to select a wheel with a reduced ET (i.e. the tire has become wider - you need to move it outward from the body - otherwise it will start to touch it ) . Reducing ET makes the wheel track wider; – this increases the stability of the car and gives it a stylish racing look. An excessive decrease in ET is undesirable, because may result in increased load on the wheel bearings. Increase the reach, i.e. It is usually impossible to narrow the track - the disc will rest against the brake caliper.

The diameter of the hub, if I remember correctly, is 61.1 for the 307...yours is 65.06 i.e. more . What is the risk of this? The wheel bearing will fail faster. In general, wheels should be selected on sites where selection is expected based on the car model.

7 x 16 ET20 if you set the offset to 27, then the disk will be included in the paid support. The longer the offset, the closer it is to the caliper. I wouldn't risk betting on 27. although if you install it, remove the front wheel and see how the disk sits. If the caliper allows it, install it. Don't worry about the central hole. because you have bolts and not nuts. I’m saying this as a former tire fitter)))) this is not a bad choice of 16 rollers https://www.shinservice.ru/disk_catalog/Peugeot/Peugeot_307_*_*/#color=55

Hello Dim. It’s generally dangerous to drive on our Smolensk roads now.
but the 17 wheels were left over from the previous owner, so as they say, there are no options.
225/55 R16 are free in our arches. Can anyone write down that they installed 225/50 R17 without problems?
Drilling for Peugeot Partner model
The popular model and workhorse from Peugeot is used for small businesses. Allows you to transport cargo of increased weight and dimensions, as well as passengers. Depending on the generation, it is equipped with rims with diameters from 15 to 16 inches. It has a drilling parameter identical to almost all small cars of the concern, equal to 4x108. Dimensions for offset, diameter and rim width may vary slightly. But the diameter of the central hole remains unchanged - 65.1 millimeters.
The popular Peugeot 308 car model is a compact hatchback. The drilling parameters for it are set to 4x108, standard for most of the company’s machines.
Generation 1
The history of the model, which has many fans, turned out to be quite short. After its premiere in 2001, the Peugeot 307 lasted only 7 years, after which it was discontinued.
Initially, the series lineup included exclusively a hatchback. Then it included a sedan, station wagon, convertible and 3-door hatchback. The car felt great only in urban conditions; it had no place in rural areas due to sensitivity to fuel quality and low ground clearance.
The design of the Peugeot 307 was strikingly different from all other “classmates”. The main feature of the model was the expressive “cat’s” eyes – specially shaped headlights characteristic of the brand’s products. The front of the car had an extremely gentle slope, visually lengthening it. Otherwise, the appearance of the model differed little from hatchbacks of that period.
Another feature of the Peugeot 307 is a convenient trunk that can accommodate up to 420 liters of cargo. With the seats folded, its volume increased to 1420 liters. It was equipped with various devices for transporting goods (hooks for bags, a luggage net, etc.). The 2.6-meter wheelbase made it possible to increase space in the cabin without restricting the movement of rear passengers.
French engineers paid increased attention to safety. The Peugeot 307 was equipped with seat belts, specially designed seats that reduce the risk of driver entrapment, and 6 airbags with adjustable “shot” power. In addition, the model’s body was designed in accordance with advanced requirements for passive protection.
In the basic version (XR version), the car was equipped with central locking, 6 airbags, power accessories and air conditioning. Higher-end XS and XSi versions were also available.
The engine range consisted of 5 engines:
- 1.4-liter gasoline engine (75 hp);
- 1.6-liter gasoline engine (110 hp);
- 2-liter gasoline engine (138 hp);
- 2-liter diesel engine (90 hp);
- 2-liter diesel engine (100 hp).
The base for the Peugeot 307 was a 5-speed gearbox. An automatic transmission with Tiptronic was optionally available.
Wheel sizes
Characteristics of wheels and tires (for all versions):
- 6J wheels on 15 ET27 (6 – width in inches, 15 – diameter in inches, 27 – positive offset in mm), tires – 195/65R15 (195 – tire width in mm, 65 – profile height in%, 15 – rim diameter in inches);
- 6.5J wheels on 15 ET20, tires – 205/60R15;
- 7J wheels on 16 ET20, tires – 205/55R16;
- 7J wheels on 16 ET20, tires – 225/50R16;
- wheels 7.5J on 18 ET20, tires – 225/40R18.
Other wheel characteristics:
- PCD (drilling) – 4 by 108 (4 is the number of holes, 108 is the diameter of the circle on which they are located in mm);
- fasteners – M12 by 1.25 (12 – stud diameter in mm, 1.25 – thread size);
- the diameter of the central hole is 65.1 mm.

Using automatic selection of tires and wheels for the Peugeot 308
, you can avoid many problems associated with their compatibility and compliance with automaker recommendations. After all, they have a huge impact on a significant part of the vehicle’s operational properties, primarily on handling, fuel efficiency and dynamic qualities. In addition, one cannot fail to note the importance of tires and rims as active safety elements. That is why it is extremely important to approach their choice very responsibly, using quite specific knowledge about these products.
Unfortunately, most car owners prefer not to go into such technical nuances. Regardless of this, the automatic selection system will prove to be extremely useful, i.e., it allows you to minimize the likelihood of making the wrong decision when choosing certain tires and rims. And thanks to the widest range presented in the Mosavtoshina online store, it is very diverse.
Unfortunately, this car does not have such popular dimensions as, for example, VAZ or Kia cars. Let's compare - 15 minimum diameter options for Peugeot versus 100 minimum diameter options for Lada.
Only the highest quality and nicest wheels for the Peugeot 308 were selected especially for our clients. More details in the selections below, plus a few photos at the bottom of the article with wheels of original sizes for the 308.

Wheel bolt pattern on the Volga
In the process of creating a car, designers naturally consider the size of its wheels. Each car model has its own, and can change during the process of restyling or complete modernization. Each manufacturer uses its own standards, which, however, can be borrowed from the machine that served as the prototype. Let's figure out what the wheel bolt pattern is on the Volga, and what this size actually means.
GAZ-21
Peugeot 307 wheel size, rims, tires
Peugeot 307 is one of the most successful products of the French brand, representing the golf class. Bright appearance and original design made the model one of the most memorable. In Russia the car was also very popular. The hatchback premiered in 2001, and a year later it received the title “Car of the Year.”
The design of the model turned out to be very ambiguous. At the same time, the Peugeot 307 turned out to be equally in demand among adults and young people. Reliability and relatively inexpensive maintenance made it one of the most affordable cars in the C segment.
The Peugeot 307 has many classmates, but the model’s main competitors are the Honda Civic and Citroen C4 hatchbacks. The car surpasses its rivals in terms of trunk volume, rear space and useful volume in the cabin. In addition, it has a high level of security.
What is called a bolt pattern?
The selection of a car disk for a car is carried out based on a number of geometric parameters. Some of them (width, diameter and offset) of the disk may vary, but one of them - PCD, which is popularly called the bolt pattern, remains unchanged.
Dimensions of a car disk and what they mean
- The abbreviation PCD denotes the diameter of the circle on which the holes for attaching the wheel to the hub are located; next to it the total number of holes is certainly indicated - LZ.
- This and other dimensions are written down in the car’s passport, and a corresponding information plate is attached to the driver’s door from the inside of any car. All parameters except the bolt pattern are indicated on the disk itself.
- Therefore, if you decide to buy discs secondhand without packaging, which usually contains all the necessary information, the diameter of the circle along which the drilling is made will have to be calculated independently using the formula. In general, the formulas are different, which depends on the number of drillings.
Formulas for calculating bolt patterns
- When purchasing new wheels, you don’t have to do this, but for the correct selection you need information not only on the make and modification of the car. Sometimes the year of manufacture or body type matters.
- There are discs with double drilling. They are designed for two different cars, so there may be 8, 9 or 10 holes. For example, this could be the bolt pattern of Volga (5*108) and Ford (4*108) wheels.
- Ford's hub is more than 63.3 (and Volga's is 58.1). Therefore, the disc's DCO will be the largest, and you can switch to a smaller diameter by using a hub adapter (a plastic ring, the thickness of which corresponds to the difference in size of the hubs of two cars).
Wheel adapters, 4 pieces required
The PCD must be exactly as prescribed by the manufacturer. You can’t just put a size that is close in value - for example, 112 instead of 108. Even if such a disc fits on the hub, it will not fit well, it will skew when moving, and you still won’t go far. You need to choose the wheels correctly, which is what we will try to help our readers with.
Generation 1 Restyling
In 2005, the French company restyled the Peugeot 307 model. The dimensions of the car remained virtually unchanged after the update, although the engineers significantly transformed the design. Due to its short length (4211 mm) and width (1746 mm), the model remains compact and convenient in suburban conditions. Among the external changes, it is worth noting the fundamentally new larger headlights, which added to the Peugeot 307’s attractiveness. The company nameplate mounted on the hood has also increased. The car received a significantly larger radiator grille of a new shape and different foglights. The changes added brightness and aggressiveness to the design, but the model retained the familiar body lines.
New elements also appeared in the cabin. So, modified seats with rigid lateral support were installed inside. The dashboard has also been modernized.
The engine range of the updated version of the Peugeot 307 has undergone noticeable changes. Diesel variations of the model were sold on the Russian market for only a short time. The French did not believe in the good quality of domestic diesel fuel and completed deliveries of diesel variations. However, used models using this type of fuel were actively distilled from Europe. On the Russian market, the new Peugeot 307 was offered with 1.4-, 1.6- and 2-liter gasoline units with a capacity of 88, 109 and 136 hp. respectively. The engines were complemented by a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission.
For updated versions of the Peugeot 307, the number of wheels and tires used has been significantly reduced. Budget versions were equipped with 6.5J wheels on 16 ET31, tires – 205/55R16 and 6J wheels on 15 ET27, tires – 195/65R15; for top ones - wheels - 6.5J on 17 ET31, tires - 205/50R17. Other wheel parameters have not changed.
It should be noted that external changes have added fat to the model, making it less “Spartan”. As a result, the updated version of the Peugeot 307 increasingly began to be called a women's car.
Volga Generations
The first sedan with the brand name “Volga” (GAZ 21) appeared in 1956, replacing the outdated Pobeda. Together with the executive Chaika and the GAZ-52 truck, the Volga received the highest award at the Brussels auto exhibition. This model was at the peak of popularity for a long time, and the quality of parts and components was such that even after half a century the car could be found on the roads of the country - and not only.
Retro: 21st Volga
- In 1970, mass production of the Volga GAZ-24, a new car at that time, began, and production of the GAZ-21 was curtailed. In that decade, a complete modernization of this sedan was planned and began to be implemented.
GAZ 24
- As a result, in the early 80s an updated model appeared with the factory index 3102, which, however, was not an absolute new product, but an updated twenty-four. It was intended to serve heads of government agencies. Ordinary citizens were offered the updated Volga GAZ 24-10.
GAZ 3102
- At the end of the eighth decade, it was decided to develop a fundamentally new family of sedans not only with front-wheel drive, but also with all-wheel drive. As a result, the executive GAZ 3105 and the mass-produced GAZ 3103 and all-wheel drive 3104 appeared.
Note: However, due to the perestroika crisis, they were never included in the series. The future lay with commercial vehicles, which were the Gazelles.
- On the eve of the millennium, the entire industry of the country was in crisis, and it also affected GAZ. In the wake of increased demand for the Volga, and in an attempt to adapt to new market conditions, another modernization of this family was carried out, as a result of which the GAZ-31029 appeared.
GAZ-31029
- The sedan underwent another modernization in 1997, receiving the factory index: Volga 3110, and a year later a rear-wheel drive version 3111 appeared. This was a temporary solution, pending the launch of a series of more promising models. However, due to the default, the market sank greatly, and the price of new products for our long-suffering citizens became “unaffordable.”
- Passenger cars were removed from the assembly line, with the intention of starting their production again later. But the country's market was so flooded with foreign cars that the demand for GAZ sedans never resumed. The new Volga Siber model, launched in 2008 and discontinued in 2010, did not help either.

Which wheels to take?
Apart from Cyber and the first two models (21 and 24), all other Volgas have the same not only bolt pattern, but also all other parameters. So let's see what you can buy in stores today in this size.
The choice is actually very small, because only Italian cars have such a hub (58.1), but their bolt pattern is different. And Volgas have been out of production for a long time, so the production of discs for them is very limited. The easiest way is to install stamping made by GAZ.
Here's what they look like:

The 5*108 bolt pattern is also found in some models of Peugeot (605, 607), Renault (Laguna 5, Scenic) and Ford (New Mondeo Transit Connect 02), but they all have a larger hub. If you wish, you can take disks for these cars and put them on the hub, as already mentioned, through adapters. The only question is whether you will find rings of the right size.

Peugeot 308 Sport Back › Logbook › Review of spacers/adapters/adapters
I share my experience of using adapters during two summer seasons. FIRST, A LITTLE THEORY.
Disc ejection (ET).
Standard wheels for Peugeot 308 in 16 diameter have an offset of ET32. With this offset, the wheels sit deep in the arches. If we want to push them outwards, i.e. to expand the wheel track of the car, then you need to reduce ET (for example ET20). And if we want to remove the wheels even deeper, then ET increases.
Spacers.
They serve to widen the vehicle track, but without changing the bolt pattern. You only need longer bolts or replacing the studs with longer ones.
Adapters (transition spacers).
Serve to change the bolt pattern. For example, from 4x108 to 4x114.3 or from 4x108 to 5x114.3. They can also simultaneously reduce or increase the reach. Usually they switch from bolts to studs.
The most interesting thing is that there are very few reviews of the use of spacers/adapters on the Internet. Installed, ride and are happy. But there are more than enough forums where theorists discuss the shortcomings:
1. Reduced security. The spacer may burst Wheels come off at speed 2. Reduced service life of wheel bearings 3. Additional weight to unsprung masses 4. Refusal of warranty if OD sees this 5. Worser handling 6. The sides of the car are more covered in dirt. and something else, I don’t remember anymore...
HOW IT IS IN PRACTICE
When buying spacers, I had 3 goals. Install nice wheels, widen the wheel track and see if all these horror stories about spacers and adapters are really scary.
My configuration: OZ Ultraleggera wheels 4×114.3 17″ 7J ET40 Dia75 Adapters 20mm transition from 4×108 Dia65.1 to 4×114.3 Dia75 as well as transition from bolts to studs. The final flight was ET20 with the standard ET32 Material: D16T duralumin Adapters were made to order
Actually review:
1. Safety.
This is the most important question.
The first season I suffered with them. The main problem for me was the bolts with a short head for attaching the adapters to the hub. I bought these bolts from the adapter manufacturer. A shortened cap is needed so that after screwing the adapter to the hub, these caps do not come out and interfere with installing the disc. It was difficult for my spray gun to tighten these bolts well because... I could only catch on the top part of the bolt head and with the force, the bolt was torn off and licked off the edges. I took the head separately from the kit - the same thing. Also, out of ignorance, I first screwed on the adapters without cleaning the hub, and this point is also very critical. The hub must be perfectly clean and the flat surface of the adapter must fit as tightly as possible to the hub. Previously, when installing wheels without adapters, such cleanliness was not required. Apparently this is due to the fact that the landing plane of the disks is not a plane at all)) As a result, I tightened the bolts that secure the adapter to the hub several times. I learned that this needed to be done by the increasing vibration in the steering wheel, especially when turning with a load on the wheel whose adapter has a problem. Yes, the wheels had to be removed several times. One day we drove two cars to Sergiev Posad. When leaving Moscow, I already felt the beginning of a beating, but we were in a hurry and it was impossible to stop. As a result, it gradually began to hit harder and when I arrived at the place, I removed the wheel and all the bolts that held the adapter were not tightened. The adapter was loose by 2-3mm, but it was saved by the fact that the adapter’s central hole stood on the central hub protrusion. So the bolts cannot suddenly loosen and the adapter cannot come off - when there is a problem, you can always feel it. In the end, I took the time to remove and reinstall all the wheels. I cleaned the hubs and fastened the adapters with good bolts. As a result, I never climbed there again, and in the second season too. If good fasteners are used, then there is no difference, whether with adapters or without them. You completely forget that they are there. Strength.
There is an option to make adapters from steel. STRONG BUT HEAVY. Everyone who reads my articles knows that this is not my option. My spacers are made of D16T duralumin. I don't know what needs to be done to them to make them burst. The most important thing at this point, again, is that the adapter sits on the hub boss. If it was only held on by bolts and there was no hub protrusion, then there would probably be options, but otherwise...
Please note which spacers and adapters I would not recommend buying. They do not have a protrusion simulating a hub protrusion on which the central hole of the disk will sit. With such spacers, the wheel is supported only by bolts or studs and this is dangerous.
2. Reduced service life of wheel bearings.
I can't say anything. I put the adapters on the hubs that are far from new, I ride them, no problems. I am sure that the resource is decreasing, but not critically. There is an opinion that the service life of these bearings decreases more when driving through potholes. even if there are no spacers.
3. Additional weight to the unsprung masses.
Weight is indeed added, but due to the fact that it is located in the center of the wheel, it does not affect the dynamics. The impact is only on the smoothness of the ride and the force with which the wheel hits when it hits a hole.
4. Refusal of warranty if OD sees this.
My car is not under warranty, so I don't care.
5. Worse handling
. I didn't notice this at all.
6. The sides of the car get more muddy.
Three hundred and eighth is already dirty, so there are no changes here.
RESULT
The bottom line, I think everyone will sum it up for themselves. Is this hassle worth it or not? If you ask me? I only regret one thing... that I didn’t immediately take the 25-30mm adapters)))
