The best new and used cars costing no more than 650 thousand rubles

Renault Duster

“Duster” was and remains one of the most budget crossovers. Moreover, this applies to both new and used copies. In general, the name of this “Frenchman” has become a household word. All relatively cheap “rogues” became “Dusters”.

Despite its reputation as an outspoken "state employee", the Duster is quite a decent car. It is reliable, equipped with all-wheel drive and all the necessary modern options. At the same time, he does not try to look better and cooler than he actually is.

Renault Duster

With a modest budget by today's standards of 500-600 thousand rubles, you can buy a car produced in 2011-2013. If you're lucky, you'll find a fresher option. In those years, Duster was a real bestseller, so, most often, the cars were sold in good configurations. This means you can count on all-wheel drive, airbags, electric windows, air conditioning and other benefits of humanity.

The SUV could be equipped with one of three engines: 1.6-liter (102 hp), 2-liter (135 hp) and 1.5-liter diesel (90 hp). They were accompanied by either “mechanics” or “automatic”.

Renault Duster

If the car was not purposefully killed, then even at 7-8 years of age it is quite vigorous and fresh. And if you take care of it, then it won’t cause any serious problems for a long time.

MAZDA CX-7

Mazda CX-7

The average price of a decent CX-7 is about 675,000 rubles. Our budget covers even restyled cars. True, you will have to be content with only an all-wheel drive modification with a supercharged 2.3 engine.

YEARS OF PRODUCTION:

2008–2010
ENGINE:
petrol, P4, 2.3 l (238 hp)
GEARBOX:
A6
DRIVE:
four-wheel

Mazda CX-7

BODY:

The body does not suffer from corrosion, the quality of the paintwork is good. The CX-7 for our market was assembled only in Japan.

MOTORS:

The 2.3 supercharged petrol engine is a slightly deformed version of the unit that was installed on charged MPS models. In addition to the low resource, it has a weak timing drive: frequent replacement of the chain and phase shifter is common. An expensive turbine does not last long either.

TRANSMISSION:

The six-speed Aisin automatic transmission handles the loads with flying colors. Do not get carried away with prolonged slipping: overheating of the oil can damage the valve body. Leaks of gearbox seals in all-wheel drive systems are common. This is especially critical for bevel gears.

CHASSIS:

The suspension and steering are not capricious. Only the support bearings of the front shock absorbers and rear wheel bearings last relatively little.

SALON:

You won't find soft plastic in the Mazda trim of those years of production, but the interior parts are not particularly susceptible to wear. Another feature of cars of those years was not the best sound insulation.

Mazda CX-7

I WANT TO SELL:

Mazda is one of the favorite brands of buyers in the secondary market. Almost all models and modifications sell well; one of the reasons for success is the dynamic engine.

RESULT:

The all-wheel drive Mazda CX-7 is the manufacturer’s most disruptive model. Even careful diagnostics does not guarantee that something expensive will not break soon, and there are too many such items in this configuration. If you really like the CX-7, it’s better to throw in 100,000 rubles and look for a more recent modification with a naturally aspirated 2.5 engine and front-wheel drive - such cars are much more reliable.

Hyundai Tucson, iX35 and Kia Sportage

The attitude towards “Tushkans” in our country is quite cool. The first generation cars looked typically Korean, that is, a little strange for the Russian mentality. But if you put aside the unsightly “big-eyed” design, the Tucson is an ordinary “workhorse”. The machine is as simple as possible, and repairs can be made even in the field. All-wheel drive SUVs, for the most part, were sold with a two-liter engine with 140 “horses”, with “mechanics” or “automatic”. Tucson is calm and cannot boast of dynamics or phenomenal cross-country ability. But for the city and trips to the country it will be one hundred percent suitable.

Hyundai Tucson

Reliability and maintainability affected the price. For 500-600 thousand you can buy a Tucson produced in 2007-2008. When purchasing, you should pay attention to the general condition of the car. Usually, if there are any problems, they are of an age-related nature.

All of the above can easily be attributed to another crossover under the Hyundai brand – the iX35. First generation cars began to be sold in 2010. For 500-600 thousand rubles you can buy a “thirty-fifth” produced in 2011-2012. The bulk of used crossovers are equipped with a two-liter gasoline engine with 150 horsepower, but there are also two-liter diesel engines with 184 horsepower. The drive is either all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. Like the Tucson, the iX35 is reliable and repairable.

Hyundai iX35

The Kia Sportage is essentially the same Tucson, just with a different nameplate. Third generation cars were very popular in Russia; there were several in every yard. They have not become rare even now. Bright design, reliability, budget maintenance and service - all this did the trick. For the specified budget you can find cars from the first years of production. And despite their advanced age, they are most often in good condition.

Kia Sportage

Available options

It is best to analyze the market in detail and not rush into a final decision.
Buying a new car has its advantages, but the choice is noticeably poorer when compared to used cars. High-quality SUVs from leading manufacturers, although not from the latest years, are superior in many characteristics to brand new crossovers up to 600,000 rubles. Only you can decide which option to lean towards.

A used car was purchased by someone and used for a certain period of time. It is important to understand that from the moment of sale, when you just bought a brand new car and drove it out of the showroom, it becomes used and loses in price at least 10-15% of its original price.

This is why crossovers up to 600 thousand rubles with mileage can be better than a new SUV for the same amount.

If you want to buy a crossover under 600,000 rubles, we recommend taking a closer look at the following options:

  • Renault Duster.
  • Mitsubishi ASX.
  • Nissan Qashqai.
  • Skoda Yeti.
  • Suzuki SX4.
  • Nissan Juke.
  • Lada XRay.
  • Opel Mokka.
  • Peugeot 2008.
  • SsangYong Actyon.

As you can see, a crossover up to 600,000 rubles can be from leading automakers with a big name and wide popularity. This makes it easier to find spare parts and service SUVs. Now we’ll tell you about these used crossovers up to 600 thousand rubles separately. So you will understand what to expect with a budget of six hundred thousand Russian rubles. We will not take into account additional costs.

Ford Kuga

An interesting option to buy for this money is the Ford Kuga. The price is suitable for first generation cars produced before the fall of 2012. These are quite powerful and fast cars, roomy, comfortable and quite durable: Kuga occupies good places in reliability ratings.

What the owners criticize: a cheap and quickly boring interior, high fuel consumption, weak headlights, glitchy multimedia. Those who consider the Kuga not a crossover, but an SUV, “kill” the gearboxes, the Haldex clutch in the all-wheel drive version, even the springs. “Racers” complain about often “flying” brakes. Traditional advice: when buying, look not only at the car, but also at the owner. Ask him in detail about how the car was used, carefully study the service history. If the car underwent maintenance on time at an authorized center, was not tied in a knot and did not burn, you can take it.

By the way, the first generation Kuga is considered illiquid in our country, that is, a hard-to-sell car - due to rumors spread by careless owners, many are afraid to buy this model. This means you have an excellent reason to bargain well with the seller.

Subaru Forester

An example of an excellent family crossover and a car for a young and active driver in one package. When buying a used Forester, look at used 3rd generation crossovers. These are the ones you can safely buy for 600,000 rubles. This is approximately 2008.

This budget allows you to purchase a Japanese SUV in a pre-restyling body. Get ready for the mileage to be at least 150 thousand kilometers. You will have to look for worthwhile options in good condition. But they are on the Russian market. The car is worth taking the time to find a worthy copy.

Subaru Forester

The undeniable advantage of the Forester on the Russian market is its Japanese assembly. There are no complaints about the body, the paintwork is excellent, and rust appears extremely reluctantly. Under the hood, it is better to choose naturally-aspirated internal combustion engines with gasoline volumes of 2.0 and 2.5 liters. The latter is more powerful, but it is a bored-out version of the two-liter unit. Behind the increase in horsepower are thin cylinder walls. Both engines have a high level of reliability.

Subaru Forester has a high level of liquidity. The all-wheel drive system deserves good words. Although the 2.0-liter version has thicker walls, the 2.5-liter internal combustion engine turned out to be more in demand in Russia.

The car itself is decent. But still, 600 thousand is not enough to count on a fresh version in excellent configuration and in excellent condition.

Kia Sportage

For the same 600 thousand you can also look at the 2010 Kia Sportage - the second generation. If you're very lucky, then the third, 2011–2013. And this car is generally considered quite reliable. Disadvantages: mediocre sound insulation (and this is the case for almost all cars from the selection), limited visibility due to the wide windshield pillars, uninformative steering, rather harsh suspension.

When choosing a Kia Sportage, you need to pay special attention to the condition of the paintwork (it is considered “weak”) and check the body for defects (body panels with complex shapes are quite expensive). The two-liter G4KD gasoline engine is considered unsuccessful - it is said that its service life is only 100 thousand kilometers. It was combined with mechanics, which also cannot be called a model of perfection. The two-liter diesel engine, combined with a durable automatic transmission, is more reliable. True, owners are advised to carefully monitor the quality of the fuel.

Wheel bearings also require regular attention. If used carelessly, the springs (primarily the rear ones) “sag.” And those who confuse the Kia Sportage with an SUV are faced with all-wheel drive breakdowns (for example, a “broken” clutch).

Hyundai Tucson

The “freshest” Tussans, offered today for 600 thousand, are ten-year-olds, 2009. As they say, “the young woman was not young.” But does this mean that the car is bad? No. The most common characteristics are “old-fashioned”, but at the same time “simple”, “reliable”, “hardy”. And also roomy. Indeed, there is quite enough space in the Hyundai Tucson for the average family: this model was created primarily for the North American market - that’s why we still have “Americans” in the secondary market. It is better to avoid them, primarily because the Yankees love to save on maintenance.

The motors are very reliable, and troubles are only associated with careless maintenance. The G4GC gasoline engine of the Beta series (2.0 l) was migrated from the Elantra, and the G6BA gasoline engine of the Delta series (V6; 2.7 l) was carried over from the Sonata. The D4EA diesel engine of the D-Engine series was also borrowed from the same models. The M5GF1 manual transmissions are, as they say, indestructible. The “original” clutch lasts for 150 thousand km or more - if you don’t get carried away with off-road driving. The F4A42 automatic transmission also doesn’t like off-roading. Tussan, with its solid appearance, is just a crossover, and heavy muddy roads are undesirable for it.

Mitsubishi Outlander

Speaking about the best used, but reliable and durable crossovers, with a budget of 600,000 rubles, you should definitely take a closer look at the 2nd generation Outlander model. Money allows you to choose among a wide list of configurations and modifications.

Mitsubishi Outlander

For the 2nd generation of its Outlander, Mitsubishi offered several gasoline engines, 3 types of gearboxes, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The bulk of the proposals will relate to the 2nd generation before restyling. If you want a restyled version, you will have to sacrifice inexpensive equipment. Look on a car produced in 2007-2010. More recent versions for the same money are probably broken or problematic according to the documents.

Outlander has high liquidity on the secondary market. They are easy to sell and buy. Moreover, the greatest demand is for all-wheel drive versions equipped with a CVT transmission. The model offers a corrosion-resistant body, reliable components and key components. There are no complaints even about the variator. You don't need a lot of money for maintenance.

Nissan X-Trail

The Nissan X-Trail will be no younger - at best, a ten-year-old, second-generation car. But there is a high probability of purchasing a Japanese-made car. Let me remind you that the production of X-Trail in St. Petersburg began in 2009. I like the description given to this car by one of the owners: “minus - you need to fill up with gasoline.” This is all. The car as a whole is very reliable, subject to timely and high-quality maintenance. Although, of course, it looks very outdated today, it does not have outstanding dynamics and poor sound insulation. On such an old car, you will most likely have to renew the paintwork and put up with the tarnished “chrome”.

For cars with expensive configurations, it is necessary to carefully check the serviceability of electrical equipment.

In the engine range, 2.0 liter MR20DE (140 hp) and 2.5 liter QR25DE (169 hp) petrol engines are adjacent to a two-liter M9R turbodiesel in two power options (150 or 173 hp). More than half of the cars on the market are equipped with two-liter gasoline engines - and they most often break down. If you're looking at a 2008 car, check with the owner or mechanics to see if the piston has been replaced. The brand carried out a service campaign due to increased oil consumption. By the way, it’s a good idea to look for leaks under the engine on any car.

Nissan X-Trail transmissions are reliable. Problems arise, as a rule, only with the Jatco JF011E variator - due to untimely, improper maintenance.

SsangYong Actyon

A slightly newer one, 2012, or even 2013, may be a SsangYong Actyon for 600 thousand. This will be a second generation car, with a monocoque body, before restyling. On the market there are approximately equal numbers of diesel and petrol versions (2.0 liter engines), with manual or automatic transmission, mostly front-wheel drive. By the way, all other things being equal, diesel Aktions are not only more economical, but also faster than gasoline ones. However, they are not without problems. In diesel engines of cars before 2012, the fuel injection pump is considered weak, and the EGR valve and particulate filter are often clogged. Traditional recommendation: choose your dressings carefully.

On the G20 gasoline engine, the timing chain tensioner requires attention, and the generator is poorly located, which floods with water and throws up dirt.

The manual gearbox is basically problem-free; on the Australian-made DSI-6 M11 automatic, until 2012 the brake band was distorted.

Regarding the suspension, the most often criticized is the low quality of rubber parts. As for the body and paintwork materials, there will probably be at least small pockets of corrosion on the car, so you will need to evaluate what it will cost to eliminate them.

Suzuki Grand Vitara

“Large” Vitaras from the first restyling period (2008) also fit our budget. Suzuki Grand Vitara appears in many reliability ratings, occupying good places. The car is in demand on the secondary market. The most popular option is with a 2.0 engine and an automatic transmission. The disadvantages include the same mediocre sound insulation, a harsh suspension, an ascetic interior and an old-fashioned appearance: in terms of comfort, the Grand Vitara is stuck in 2005. The advantages include excellent reliability and high maneuverability.

The quality of the paintwork is good, there are no rust spots on the body. However, even in minor accidents, its front end suffers too much, although the overall level of passive safety is high.

The 2.0 engine is reliable, but rather weak for a fairly heavy car - it’s better to look for an option with 2.4. The Aisin four-speed automatic transmission is archaic, but durable. The manual transmission is also no hassle. The components of the all-wheel drive transmission are not particularly worrying, except that oil seal leaks are common. The weak links in the suspension are the front stabilizer bushings and the rear silent blocks of the front control arms. The remaining parts last a long time (this also applies to the steering components).

Peugeot 2008

For some, it is a surprise that among the best offers for 600,000 rubles was an SUV from the French automaker Peugeot. Yes, not all recent projects can be called successful. But the 2008 model looks like a good option for those who need a quality city SUV.

The appearance is not for everyone, but there were quite a lot of them in Russia. The ground clearance is only 170 mm... and if you install crankcase protection, it will completely decrease to 160 mm. So it’s not worth traveling very often and far beyond the asphalt.

Peugeot 2008

Maintenance is not the cheapest due to the cost of original spare parts. But this is not a problem, since there are budget analogues of decent quality. Having 600 thousand rubles at your disposal, you can count on engines with a volume of 1.2 or 1.6 liters. It’s better to immediately take a 1.6-liter unit with 120 horsepower. The first internal combustion engine with 82 liters. With. Frankly it doesn’t support the weight of the car. This is an exclusively front-wheel drive car, as befits a true SUV.

On the secondary market it is possible to find a Peugeot 2008 from approximately 2013-2015 for less than 600 thousand rubles.

Lada XRay

An even more unexpected option among the best SUVs costing no more than 600 thousand rubles was a domestic car in the form of the Lada XRay.

AvtoVAZ itself considers its creation a crossover, but in fact it is more of an off-road hatchback. That is, you can safely put the car in the SUV category. Its main advantage is its age and minimal mileage. For 600 thousand you can buy a copy of the 2016-2017 model year, the odometer of which will have no more than 50 thousand mileage.

Lada XRay

The positive aspects include a ground clearance of 195 mm, low cost, stable suspension and cheap maintenance. But the car itself is not made of very high quality, the rear seat is cramped, and hard plastic is used in the cabin.

It is better not to buy a package with a robotic gearbox. It is worth giving preference to the good old mechanics. The 106 and 122 horsepower engines are not bad, but the dynamics are a little lacking. If you want to take the freshest SUV possible, Xray is for you.

Opel Mokka

Officially, the new generation of this compact SUV has not been sold in Russia since 2020. It was then that the German brand left the Russian market. But on the secondary market there remains an impressive number of these cars in good condition and at an adequate price. It is better to choose among models produced in 2012-2015.

Opel Mokka

For that kind of money, the Mokka is offered with front-wheel drive and engines with 140 horsepower. Moreover, with the same power there are two engines. This is a naturally aspirated 1.8-liter and turbocharged 1.4-liter internal combustion engine. Choose the option without a turbine. This engine is reliable, has a good service life, and is combined with durable mechanics.

Cross-country ability is at a fairly low level. This is due not only to the 180 mm ground clearance, but also to the lip on the front bumper. Because of it, the cross-country geometry is reduced. You will have to overcome some obstacles with caution. But if the car is chosen for the city, this SUV will feel very confident.

Mazda CX-7

You can also look at used versions of the more compact SUV represented by the CX-5, but the CX-7 turned out to be more popular among Russians. These may not be the best crossovers existing in the world, but for 600,000 rubles you can really find a lively and promising option.

Really excellent Japanese crossovers in good condition and richly equipped cost an average of 670 thousand rubles. Therefore, you will have to lower the bar a little with the requirements, taking the average level of equipment. For 600 thousand it’s possible to find a restyled CX-7. But most of the offers from 2008-2010 are still pre-restyling.

Mazda CX-7

The advantages include the reliability and durability of the body, which is not afraid of corrosion. An undeniable advantage is the Japanese assembly of this SUV for the Russian market. You don't have to choose between engines. This is only a 2.3-liter supercharged petrol variant with 238 horsepower. It will work with an automatic transmission from Aisin, which has excellent load resistance.

This is interesting: Top expensive campers (motorhomes) for any occasion around the world

But you should pay close attention to all-wheel drive. It breaks too often, regardless of the year of manufacture. The costs of its repair and maintenance will be impressive. To avoid such problems, you need to very carefully choose a CX-7 for 600 thousand, or collect 700 thousand rubles and buy a more recent version with an atmospheric combustion engine and front-wheel drive. Its reliability is much higher than the all-wheel drive turbocharged version.

Renault Duster

Renault Duster

The ranking of used crossovers costing up to 600,000 rubles is topped by a popular budget SUV, the demand for which can be judged by the large number of copies of this model that have filled the streets of Russian cities. At the same time, our budget includes cars manufactured in 2012-2014, the cost of which ranges from 420 to 599 thousand rubles. Most often there are options with 1.5- and 1.6-liter engines, but if you wish, you can also find a car with a two-liter power unit. The only transmission option is manual. This all-wheel drive crossover can hardly be called a standard of beauty, but it has an impressive ground clearance of 20.5 cm, which allows it to feel free both in the city and in an off-road environment. With very good geometric cross-country ability, the Duster's interior is very spacious, and the all-wheel drive modification can even be perceived as a full-fledged SUV. There are enough offers of this car on the Internet, and its liquidity has remained at a decent level in recent years. In other words, you can buy it easily and effortlessly sell it if necessary. As for the cost of service and spare parts, official dealers should be avoided. In retail and at regular car services, the price level is much lower. If you purchase non-original spare parts and components, the level of costs will be acceptable for the average car owner. Note that you should purchase the version with a 1.5-liter turbodiesel with caution - they do not tolerate the harsh Russian winters well. Two-liter petrol Dusters for that kind of money are unlikely to have all-wheel drive, although the market situation is changing quickly, and at the beginning of 2020 such offers were not uncommon.

Mitsubishi ASX

This representative of the Japanese automobile industry, looking much more presentable and attractive than the Renault Duster, is in second place in the TOP 10 crossovers with mileage costing up to 600,000 rubles. The reason is prosaic - the car’s off-road properties are worse than those of the leader in the rating, largely due to the lower ground clearance (19.5 cm). There is also noticeably less space in the cabin. For less than 600 thousand rubles, most of the offers are cars produced in 2010-2012, that is, here too the advantage is on the side of the French SUV. As for the number of offers, there is approximate parity, with models with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine predominant. But there are also options with a more powerful 1.8-liter power unit. The former are equipped with a manual gearbox, the latter – with an automatic transmission. The number of offers with all-wheel drive in this price category is minimal. For our budget, we can buy a car with a mileage of 80 thousand kilometers. There are also options with lower mileage, but with problematic documents or their absence. There are chances to become the owner of both a purebred “Japanese” and a car produced at the Mitsubishi plant in the USA.

Mitsubishi ASX

Ford EcoSport

Ground clearance: 200 mm (203 mm for all-wheel drive versions) Drive type: 2WD/4WD with multi-plate clutch Trunk volume: 333 l

The EcoSport is Ford's attempt to create a class bestseller like the Focus was in its day. Hence the discreet exterior and a number of interesting features. A full-fledged “spare wheel”, in imitation of real SUVs, hangs on the hinged fifth door, freeing up space in the trunk. The tire size is 205/60 R16, which means a wide selection of inexpensive tires. The cabin is not cramped, although the EcoSport's wheelbase is shorter than that of the Nissan Juke (2519 mm versus 2530). Handling is perky, the suspension is impenetrable. It has good makings of a “rogue” - solid ground clearance, short overhangs front and rear, approach angle is 22 degrees, departure angle is 35 degrees.

Russian assembly and completely market prices did not provide EcoSport with great popularity in our market. The choice of modifications was not the most optimal (for example, there was no option with all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission), and sales of the model were also crippled by the crisis, hence the small choice on the secondary market. Having 600,000 rubles on hand, you can count on only 50 options. These are mainly crossovers from Moscow and St. Petersburg. In fact, there is no choice of versions. The vast majority of cars have a naturally aspirated 1.6 (122 hp, 148 Nm). The 2.0-liter EcoSport (140 hp, 186 Nm) cannot be found on sale. More than half of the crossovers are equipped with a PowerShift robotic gearbox with two clutches.

Not all is well with the crossover's safety. In EuroNCAP tests, the EcoSport earned four stars out of a possible five. Although direct competitors, with the exception of Duster, have five stars each. Uncomfortable front seats with a short cushion and overly cheap finishing of the stylish interior design seem like a trifle against this background.

Great Wall Hover H3 and H5

When planning to buy a used crossover on the secondary market for 600 thousand rubles, not everyone will look towards the Chinese automobile industry. In most cases, they will be absolutely right, since it is better to buy cars from the Middle Kingdom new, since their service life is not as long as that of competitors.

But there will always be an exception. The Great Wall company offers two crossovers at once, which occupy a worthy place in the current ranking.

The main advantage of the Hover X3 and X5 models is that for literally 600 thousand rubles they offer fairly recent models from 2012-2014, and their mileage does not exceed 100 thousand kilometers. It is not recommended to buy a domestically assembled Hover, although a lot depends on the condition of the particular model. The body does not undergo galvanizing procedure. Although there are no serious problems with corrosion, any pockets of rust should be repaired as soon as they are discovered.

Great Wall Hover H3 and H5

The motors on Hover are good and reliable. These are power units manufactured by Mitsubishi, which says a lot. It is recommended to take only gasoline versions, since the diesel internal combustion engine has a number of problems.

Hyundai gearboxes are pleasingly reliable and durable. This applies to manual and automatic transmissions equally. You will receive a Korean automatic only when purchasing a diesel engine. Here you need to think whether it’s worth doing this, or whether it’s better to get by with conventional mechanics.

Unlike many Chinese crossovers that need to be avoided on the secondary market, the Hover stands out as a clear exception to the rule. The cars are reliable, of good quality, and are in great demand. Please keep in mind that we are talking about a frame SUV that requires appropriate operating conditions. As a car purely for the city, it is not the best fit.

Nissan Qashqai

This crossover can rightfully be called one of the mastodons of this market segment - the first generation was released in 2006. Interestingly, the production of Quashqai continues today - the second generation of Japanese crossovers is currently being produced, sharing a common platform with the third generation Nissan X-Trail. Accordingly, the domestic used car market includes models of all model years, but the range of up to 600 thousand rubles includes models produced in 2007-2012.

In the list of the best used crossovers under 600,000 rubles, we put Quashqai in third place. In most cases, these are cars equipped with a two-liter 141-horsepower gasoline engine with all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive modifications with a 1.6-liter power unit and manual transmission are much less common. Like most “Japanese”, Quashqai is considered a fairly reliable and unpretentious SUV to operate, but for our budget we have the opportunity to become the owner of only a fairly old copy. It is advisable to purchase a restyled model with a 1.6-liter engine, since the first generation with a “kopeck piece” is quite voracious in terms of engine oil. In addition, problems may arise with the variator - if the mileage has exceeded 150 thousand kilometers, then the gearbox most likely already needs to be replaced - and this will cost an additional 70-100 thousand rubles. As for off-road properties, they are very mediocre, with a ground clearance of 20.0 cm.

This is interesting: The best Mercedes-Benz cars are the most beautiful and powerful car models

Skoda Yeti

This Czech model appeared on the market at the end of 2009, but there are models released in 2010 and later on sale. Possessing a rather original exterior, the car has undergone restyling - in 2013, the bumpers, radiator grille, and headlight unit were seriously modified. As a rule, the older the specimen, the lower its price. Models of 2010 can be purchased for an amount slightly exceeding 400 thousand rubles. A used crossover for 600 thousand rubles is a car manufactured in 2011-2012 with relatively low mileage. In general, there are much fewer offers than the top three. Versions with a 105-horsepower 1.2-liter engine prevail, but there are options with 1.4-liter and, less commonly, 1.8-liter power units with a capacity of 122/152 horsepower, respectively. Transmission is either a six-speed manual transmission or a 6/7-speed robot. The car is quite reliable, but there are problems with liquidity - it’s easy to buy it, but in order to sell it and not make it cheaper, you will have to spend a lot of time. The reason is trivial: in our country people are not very willing to buy cars with a turbodiesel, and even more so with a robotic gearbox. Therefore, it is better to pay attention to copies with a manual transmission and low mileage - they will last longer and have a greater chance of being sold. If this is not possible, then give preference to options with a six-speed automatic transmission equipped with a wet clutch - they last longer than their 7-speed counterpart. The version with a full automatic transmission (after 2014), alas, is too expensive.

Skoda Yeti

Nissan Juke

This SUV, produced since 2010, is loved by many car enthusiasts due to its extraordinary appearance. This is definitely a youth car with a considerable number of fans of the fair sex. The starting prices that can be found on the Internet are low - from 450 thousand rubles. A total of four engine options are available – a 1.5-liter 114 horsepower, a 1.6-liter 94/117 horsepower, and a turbocharged 1.6-liter equivalent with 190 horsepower. With. There are two transmissions - either a five-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable variator. If you want a fairly powerful and responsive car, buy the turbocharged version, but remember that in this case you will have to forget about fuel economy. And there will also be problems with oil consumption. For this reason, the liquidity of cars with a turbo engine is low, as well as those equipped with a CVT - they are also not favored in our open spaces due to their rarity and high cost of repair. The model is included in the rating of the best used crossovers worth up to 600,000 rubles not only due to its unique appearance - this car has short overhangs, increased ground clearance to 18 cm and considerable departure/approach angles. But the low position is due to several significant disadvantages: a small trunk, a lack of space in the cabin and the disadvantages of turbocharged engines and CVTs described above.

Nissan Juke

Suzuki SX4

This is also one of the old-timers of this segment, the first generation of which was produced during 2006-2013 - these are the cars that are presented in our price range. This car took fifth place in the ranking of used crossovers up to 600 thousand rubles for two reasons: firstly, it is Japanese, and secondly, if you wish, you can find a copy costing about 300 thousand rubles, which cannot be said about the rest of the TOP participants. 10. Like all “Japanese” cars, the SX4 is characterized by high liquidity, and you have the opportunity to become the owner of a car produced in 2007-2011, equipped with three engine variations (1.5/110, 1.6/107, 2.0/140 liters/horsepower, respectively). If you believe the mileage figures indicated in the price lists, then the predominant values are less than 100 thousand kilometers. You shouldn’t be too surprised by this, since the majority of the previous owners are family people. There are Hungarian-assembled and indigenous “Japanese” cars on sale. The latter, of course, are more reliable, and often cost less than the “European” ones. The situation with ground clearance is far from optimistic - only 17.5 cm, however, thanks to the presence of overhangs and a short wheelbase, this disadvantage is partially compensated for, allowing you to overcome moderate off-road conditions without any problems. It is desirable that it be an all-wheel drive modification.

Great Wall Hover H3

This is one of those “Chinese” people you can try to make friends with. The stipulated budget includes fairly old cars that are more than nine years old. And the years, quite often, are not kind to Hovers. The main problem is the susceptibility to rust. In addition, the H3 has a lot of “sores” that are unpleasant for the owner, especially if you openly give up on the car. So it turns out that the new owner will be forced to clean up the “Augean Stables” after his predecessor.

Great Wall Hover H3

But Hover also has its advantages. For example, he is a real full-fledged “rogue”, with a frame and rigidly connected all-wheel drive. The car is equipped with either a 2.0-liter engine or a 2.4-liter. There is no alternative to “mechanics”.

MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER (second generation)

Mitsubishi Outlander, second generation

For 600,000 rubles you can choose an Outlander to suit every taste - there is a choice of engine power, type of drive and gearbox. True, cars for this money have a decent age and mileage. In addition to “pre-reform” cars, restyled ones are also available for this money, but in poor trim levels.

YEARS OF PRODUCTION:

2007–2010
ENGINES:
petrol, P4, 2.0 l (147 hp);
2.4 l (170 hp); V6, 3.0 l (220 hp) TRANSMISSIONS:
M5, A6,
CVT DRIVE:
front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive

Mitsubishi Outlander, second generation

BODY:

The paintwork does not resist chips and scratches well, however, the body has no obvious weak points susceptible to corrosion.

MOTORS:

Engines 2.0 and 2.4 have no serious drawbacks, are quite reliable and have a decent service life. The 3.0 engine belongs to the brave old guard - it is even more reliable than the younger units, but requires more significant maintenance costs.

TRANSMISSION:

The manual transmission is no hassle. The JF011E variator, working in conjunction with the 2.0 and 2.4 engines, must be handled carefully, and then it will last 200,000 km. But paired with the 2.4 engine, it runs noticeably less, since the torque is close to the maximum for this variator. The Jatco automatic (combined with the 3.0 engine) has a good reputation - in general, the gearbox is reliable and quite successful among its classmates. The remaining elements of both mono- and all-wheel drive transmissions rarely require attention.

CHASSIS:

Suspension and steering components have a high service life. Consumables mainly include only bushings and stabilizer struts.

SALON:

The interior will disappoint with mediocre sound insulation and cheap finishing. The steering wheel and seats wear out noticeably after 100,000 km.

Mitsubishi Outlander, second generation

I WANT TO SELL:

Liquidity is quite high. The most popular are all-wheel drive modifications with a CVT.

RESULT:

The arsenal includes quite reliable components and assemblies, including even a CVT. The car will not require serious investment for a long time. True, Outlanders costing 600,000 rubles have already used up this reserve of reliability, so in the near future certain costs for their repair and maintenance are inevitable.

Chery Tiggo FL

Another quite suitable “Chinese”. In addition, for 500-600 thousand you can find a fairly recent version that will be about five years old.

Chery Tiggo FL

Tiggo FL is a typical SUV. It does not have all-wheel drive, since it was not created for off-road use, but to overcome obstacles in the concrete jungle. Therefore, the emphasis is on comfort. The “Chinese” has a spacious interior, a spacious trunk and good equipment.

On the market you can find options with a 1.6-liter engine (126 hp), 1.9-liter (132 hp) and two-liter (136 hp). But there is not much difference between them. When purchasing, the most important thing is to pay attention to the presence of rust, since Tiggo FL is prone to its appearance even at a young age.

Domestic "old man"

So, our first candidate is well known to everyone, this is the Lada 4 by 4. Honestly, I don’t really like the products of this automaker, but the good old Niva is on the assembly line, and I think it will outlive many of us. Manual transmission, 1.7 l, 83 hp, consumption – 8.3 l on the highway and 12 l in the city. For this money you can get a very fresh copy, almost straight from the showroom. I don’t see any point in telling anything about her, everyone already knows everything. This is an all-wheel drive that can go where no one else can, it is a reliable car (yes, something doesn’t work there all the time, but it will always run), spare parts are cheap and easily accessible. Everything is fine... But the interior... cheap plastic that constantly creaks, a noisy and booming “transfer”, no, not even noisy, it is very noisy, lack of ergonomics, a small back row, on which only short people and children can comfortably fit. In conclusion, I want to say: this is not a car for every day! It will be uncomfortable to drive in city traffic jams, and the rigid suspension, which will send “hello” from every bump on the road, will not allow you to comfortably drive long distances on the highway. This is a car designed for off-road use and should be used there; this is a car for a hunter, fisherman or farmer, but not for a family city dweller.

Nissan Qashqai

Such a rating could not do without Nissan’s bestseller. The compact crossover literally blew up the market with its appearance. He became a symbol of the entire class for many years.

Nissan Qashqai

The first generation Qashqai is as simple as a stool and also reliable. There will definitely be no problems with repairs and spare parts, and the maintenance of the car itself will not take all the money out of your wallet. Qashqai were sold with a 1.6-liter engine and a two-liter one. And they were accompanied by “mechanics” and a variator. Moreover, the latter is quite reliable. But when purchasing, it is still worth carrying out diagnostics. Since the car will be at least ten years old and with a solid mileage.

For 500-600 thousand you can find a completely decent option with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
