How to change the battery in a Mazda CX-5 key

First you need to press the button on the back and disconnect the key from the key fob. Then insert a screwdriver into the groove where the key is usually located and carefully lift the key fob half . Separate the key fob covers and pull out the remote control module.

Then separate the battery pack from the back cover. Remove the battery cover. Then remove the old battery, being careful not to damage the contacts, and install a new one. The battery is installed with the negative side “-” facing down.
