Speakerphone in the car: how to make it, how to connect it, how to set it up?

In today's world, it is no longer possible to do without mobile communications. The usefulness of their use is quite obvious. However, there are also negative qualities to this. We are not talking about harmful radiation yet, we will talk about the possibility of use while driving a car. This is where mobile phones did not perform at their best.

One of the public address systems

Talking on a mobile phone while driving prevents the driver from assessing the traffic situation. His attention is reduced, and significantly in some cases - up to 30%, this is compared to a driver who is not distracted by talking on the phone. This percentage of decreased attention can be equated to mild alcohol intoxication. In addition, a driver talking on a mobile phone has to use one hand to hold the device near his ear, which makes driving the car more difficult, especially if it is equipped with a manual transmission. That is, the driver has only one hand left to drive the car, change gears, turn on the light alarm (turn signals, etc.). All this affects safety.

It is not for nothing that it is legally prohibited to talk on the phone while moving, and this can result in a serious fine. Read more about this here.

Voice Types

It is worth noting that many modern cars come from the factory with built-in public address systems, which are controlled using buttons either on the steering wheel or on the center console.

But if the car is not equipped with such functionality, you can do it yourself.

There are several different ways to install this type of electronic assistance in the interior of your car, using both professional and auxiliary devices. How to make a speakerphone in a car yourself and without much effort? Motorists will find this information in this material.

GHS channel management

  • From any telephone connected to the system.
To do this, it is enough to program the corresponding subscriber line to control the GHS channel or to communicate with the intercom (and even with the radio station).
  • From a system telephone.
Strictly speaking, the system telephone is a communication remote control - convenient and multifunctional. For example, STA 30 has 30 programmable buttons, and if you connect an expansion console, another 60 programmable buttons will be added.

The easiest way

You can provide hands-free communication in the car by connecting your mobile phone to the car radio with an additional microphone installed, or you need to purchase a device specially designed for this. You can buy this device at an audio equipment store. It is a small signal receiver that works directly in conjunction with a phone via a Bluetooth connection. How to talk in a car via speakerphone this way? You just need to configure the receiver, which can be done within a few minutes.

PBX with integrated communication console service.

MP35 - widely used in offices of enterprises and organizations, shops, pharmacies, kindergartens, country cottages, townhouses, etc., providing reliable and modern communications
MP48P is a reliable PBX for small and medium-sized businesses, combining flexible and versatile functionality with a low price.
MP80P - identical to MP48P in functionality, but with higher capacity (up to 80 ports)
MXM500 - are successfully used both in industrial enterprises and law enforcement agencies, as well as in clinics, hospitals, schools and other social, cultural and domestic enterprises.

Method of connection to the radio

Installing and connecting a communication headset in a car is quite simple, and any driver, even those without technical knowledge, can cope with this task. Let's take a closer look at the process of installing a speakerphone in a car via a radio and a mobile phone.

For this method, you will need a Bluetooth-enabled tape recorder, as well as a microphone that can be connected to a receiver.

Next, we carry out the entire process according to the specified sequence. We install a radio in the car. If you already have one, then half the job is done. We fix the microphone on the sun visor or in another convenient place, but preferably on the driver’s side, and connect it to the radio. The system is installed. All that remains is to configure it: turn on Bluetooth on both the mobile and the tape recorder. Next, we begin searching for a paired device, connect, and you can use it.

Special headset and accessories:

  • The first and most affordable device is an in-ear headset. Quite a convenient device that can be used even outside the car. Many models are equipped with buttons for accepting and rejecting calls, as well as a volume control.
  • The second device is a speakerphone in the car via a speakerphone. Externally, the headset resembles the telephone itself, but only works as an audio signal transmitter. The speakerphone is powered both independently and from the car's cigarette lighter socket.
  • The third type of device is gadgets with the Bluetooth function. To a greater extent, they are intended for stationary installation in a car. You can attach such a gadget in any convenient place in the car, and it will work as a transmitter and as a hands-free microphone in the car.
  • “Hands-free” kits. These are multifunctional devices that can be used both as a communication device and for reading various multimedia files from the phone. The kit is equipped with various holders for convenient installation in a car, and a charger powered by a cigarette lighter plug. Expensive models may have connectors for USB and memory cards.

And here's what's especially important:

  • Maxiphones (with the exception of MXF-tv) work not only as part of the Maxicom PBX, but also with most Russian and foreign PBXs. They can also be used as adapters for connecting external amplifiers. Conclusion: if you already have a PBX, but it either does not support the GGS function, or connecting a special GGS module is very expensive, or the function does exist. but there is a limit on the number of broadcast zones - “Maxiphones” can help you! You will have a GHS, and the number of zones will be limited only by the number of free subscriber sets.
  • Maxiphones, like regular phones, can take part in telephone conferences and conference calls.
  • There are other features too! Intercoms from other manufacturers can do some of them. but so that all at once - no. And “Maxiphones” - YES!

Jabra Drive speakerphone

This is a popular gadget not only among motorists. This device works as a speakerphone in a car via Bluetooth and has excellent sound characteristics. In appearance, the device is quite large - 104x56x18 mm, it weighs 100 grams.

The design of the gadget is quite attractive and will easily fit into the interior of any car. Its fastening is made in the form of a metal bracket, so it can be easily fixed in the cabin.

Most of the front side of the case is occupied by a conversation speaker, protected by a black mesh. Along the way, the speaker device works as a button to receive and reject calls. Above the speaker button is a receiving microphone, as well as a volume control.

Device in operation

When launched, it automatically searches for a mobile phone to connect to it via Bluetooth. Therefore, before connecting the speakerphone in the car, you need to make sure that the phone is paired with the device.

It is very convenient to talk on the device, since the quality of the transmitted sound signal is no different from the “hands-free” devices built into cars. The sound is clear, without interference, and the volume is enough even for listening to music files.

The microphone is equipped with an echo and noise absorption system. Therefore, the interlocutor does not even notice that the conversation is taking place over the speakerphone.

Without recharging, the “gill” works for twenty hours in talk mode, and in “sleep” mode the charge lasts for one month. When the device is not used for thirty minutes, it automatically turns off, thereby saving energy. You just need to restart it, and you can continue to use it. In this case, all settings are saved automatically. Additionally, the gadget is equipped with the A2D2 stereo protocol, which makes it possible to transfer music files, and also has EDR support.

Example:

Director's console for 60 internal and 3 external subscribers. View solution .

However, in many cases there are additional requirements for the end devices of a duplex GHS, and intercoms meet these requirements.

Unlike the vast majority of imported and domestic intercoms, Maxiphones provide full duplex communication, because imitate the operation of a telephone. True, not an ordinary telephone, but a telephone of the Central Bank system without a dialer.

The GGS diagram shows three modifications of the Maxiphones. In fact, more than 20 modifications are produced, among which there are anti-vandal, and heat-stabilized, with additional protection from moisture and slanting rain, etc.

These intercoms are also connected to PBX subscriber sets.

Plantronics K100 In-Car Bluetooth

Hands-free communication in the car can be achieved using this device, which has proven itself to be a convenient, reliable and practical device. K100 has simple controls. The design provides only three buttons and a volume control.

The buttons here are as follows: for answering/rejecting a call, turning on the radio and completely muting the sound. The device is equipped with a dual-action microphone, which, in turn, filters out noise and interference and transmits voice without distortion.

Before setting up voice communication in your car, you need to attach the speakerphone to the sun visor and connect it to power. Next, after turning on the device, you should pair it with your mobile phone via Bluetooth.

This completes all settings, with the exception of selecting sound parameters.

The radio function is configured by pressing the corresponding button, and if desired, the radio wave signal can be transmitted to the car radio. To do this, just tune the tape recorder to the appropriate wavelength and the signal from the K100 will be broadcast through the car's audio system.

The autonomous charge is enough for fourteen hours of conversation.

In standby mode, the device operates for fifteen days. The battery can be charged either from the car or from a computer via a USB cable. Thanks to the presence of AD2P, the device supports voice commands for GPS navigation.

Car speakerphone that doesn't need to be charged

This review will be entirely dedicated to car enthusiasts who care about safe driving (the review contains 1 video, 36 photos and 34,529 letters, read LOTS OF TRAFFIC!!!). For me, this story began on June 5 last year, when I was crossing one of the intersections of the city “G” on a beautiful summer day while simultaneously solving work issues by phone. The next moment the expected “BOOM!!!”

and as a consequence:

The phone bill included $4,000 for car repairs...

The first step after purchasing a new car was to search for a convenient and functional hands-free device, also known as HANDSFREE.

Main criteria

: 1.
Ease of (de)installation and operation
.
This requirement was dictated by considerations of convenience and safety: the device should be easily installed and quickly removed from its mountings in the cabin in order to avoid encroachment by a criminal element. 2. High-quality communication
.
The main requirement is a comfortable (ideally indistinguishable) quality of communication for interlocutors when talking via HandsFree. 3. Independent power consumption
. Possible options in descending order: a) standard constant power from the car without using the cigarette lighter, b) A very capacious battery with charging from the cigarette lighter, c) speakerphone with constant power from the cigarette lighter, which is not at all “ice”... As it turns out, there is another option which will be discussed in the review.

Looking into the depths of the domestic Internet, I realized that in less than $100

I can't find the device I need. Among other things, the options found were difficult to remove when selling the car, and hardly anyone would appreciate a hundred-dollar investment in a speakerphone when purchasing... China, in turn, offered many more options for less money. As a result, I seriously considered the following options:

1. buyincoins.com/item/2258.html

cost $16

— at the time of ordering, it met the criteria of “versatility” (FM modulator + speakerphone), “ease of use” (took it out of the cigarette lighter socket and threw it in the glove compartment). I had to make sure of the quality of the connection.

2. aliexpress.com/item/Bluetooth-hands-free-car-kit-with-3-5mm-aux-in-jack-and-USB-charging-jack/1023849604.html

cost $25

— I abandoned the purchase almost immediately due to the small volume of the battery (100 mAh), the inconvenience of charging and connection to the radio socket (i.e., to turn on the speakerphone, you must install the radio panel)

3. dx.com/p/solar-car-charger-powered-rechargeable-1-8-lcm-bluetooth-caller-id-handsfree-set-48048

cost $31

. This review is dedicated to him.

Purchase priority was sorted according to the most despicable attribute - cost

. Why? Because if a $15 device satisfies a need, there is no need to pay twice as much. As it turned out later, price still determines quality.

Option #1

was ordered and used for several days. In the end, I abandoned it because of: 1. Dimensions - an absurdly hefty “sunflower” 2. Poor connection between the remote control and the modulator, disgusting mount of the remote control to the steering wheel 3. Objectively poor quality of music and (most importantly) disgusting connection! The most popular words from my interlocutors were “what?”, “I don’t understand..!” and “repeat...”, and there was no talk about driving safety - during the conversation you had to constantly lean towards the microphone.

From option No. 2

I also refused in the form of a microphone for the radio. There are also devices that connect to the phone as an earphone and via micro USB.

There is only one option left #3

: Solar/Car Charger Powered Rechargeable 1.8″ LCM Bluetooth Caller ID Handsfree Set.

Gathering information on the Internet led to an information package of:

- videos www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MjdOa1q9nA and www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpIBGIaKU24 in which impulsive English-speaking American-mestizos talk about the fantastic convenience of a SIMILAR device - meager 2-3 reviews on request in Google... - laudatory descriptions of the product on the seller’s page, which may not be an argument. In short, an information vacuum!

One way or another, but the stated characteristics

I liked the last device:
- 2.4 GHz version of Bluetooth, transmission range - 10 meters.
- 1.8" LCM display - Caller ID with name display - Ability to store incoming phone numbers - DSP technology, full duplex, noise and echo cancellation - Built-in tall smart microphone and powerful speaker - Scroll 20 incoming calls, store 600 contacts - Key features: Volume level / Answer call / end call - Power: built-in 1500mAh lithium battery or car charger - Charging: Solar panel or car charger (DC 12 ~ 24V) - Talk time: 9 hours depending on call intensity - Standby use: 5 days - The kit includes: - 1 * Bluetooth Handsfree - 1 * Car charger (12 ~ 24V) - 1 * USB cable - 1 * Mount (suction cups to the glass + clip on the visor) - 1 * User manual (in English) In the stated characteristics

We were especially pleased with: - impressive battery capacity, a lot of communication quality improvements, modern design with a nice display and (!) the ability to recharge the battery from solar energy. The only Rubicon that had to be overcome to buy was the price of 31 USD. Having estimated that this device could successfully roam from car to car for many years, I decided that I would not be at a loss. Ordered.

I won’t describe the ordeals of sending parcels - everyone will have their own.

First impressions after receiving.

The parcel arrived without damage. The first impression after opening the envelope is THING!!!

Solid, thick cardboard packaging with lamination is made in a vignette format. The front panel folds back and the device is visible in the blister window. The block itself is packed thoroughly in white polyethylene foam. Each item is packed in a separate bag. Everything in the picture is included.

Fasteners

The fastener material is transparent plastic. The fastener involves 2 forms of fastening: a glass with suction cups to the glass and a glass with a clip to the sun visor.

Clip

was immediately shelved because its attachment to the visor excluded the main advantage of using the device - charging from the sun. For this reason, I can’t say anything about the practicality of this fastener. Plastic thickness - 3mm. It’s clear - the plastic is thick, the clip is attached tightly, and doesn’t come off when shaken.

Fastening to glass

made using 3 suction cups. When the device is attached to the glass, it does not fall out while moving. The only drawback is the rattling in the glass during a conversation. The problem was solved by two fabric gaskets at the joints of the fastener and the device.

Charger

The device is equipped with a UNIVERSAL car charger 12-24V/5V, 1000 mA + USB/miniUSB cable 1.5 m long. From this charge, both the recorder and the THL W8 phone “started up”, so I confirm the versatility. The charger is equipped with a blue diode that lights up constantly regardless of use. To be fair, I note that the charger received from the seller differs from the charging indicated on the seller’s page... for the better! It is much smaller (only 54mm) and looks neater in the cigarette lighter socket

Instructions

It's in English. Considering the rather modest functionality of the device, it didn’t take long to figure it out. It is also necessary to remember that for the Chinese, English is also not their native language, so they write it simply and clearly at the level of “London from the Capital of Great Britain...”. For those suffering, I can upload the scan to the thread (on request)

Speakerphone

And now to the sweets. The device has the following dimensions: 111/54/19mm, speaker size: 45mm/solar panel size: 35/51, display 1.8"

The block has the shape of... a “remnant”, as well as tactile sensations. Black and silver plastic, glossy surface.

The front side is equipped with three buttons: * “RECEIVE/END CALL”

.
The button is neither big nor small. There is no need to feel when pressing. This very button is an indicator of the device’s status: blinks blue when the device is in call waiting mode / lights red when the battery is charging. When you press the button, a quiet click is heard. * two smaller buttons “V+”
and
“V-”
.
They are respectively responsible for the speaker volume, scrolling through contacts and outgoing/incoming calls. These buttons, in different combinations, are responsible for other functions that are described in the instructions. * there is an “ON/OFF”
. Everything is clear here. * In addition to the power button, at the end there is a miniUSB connector for charging and a microphone hole. In my opinion, the placement of the microphone is somewhat ill-thought out: if you hang the device, say, in the center of the windshield on a suction cup, then the microphone is directed at the passenger. This may negatively affect the quality of communication...

... however, I haven’t tried it, I don’t insist... That’s all! What else do you need? (the question is rhetorical and does not require an answer)…

Usage

After turning on the device with the “ON/OFF” slider, the display lights up with a bright blue saturated light, quite pleasant to perceive. The letters glow white. The text is perfectly readable. Messages are displayed on one line. After the tones, the device calls itself CAR KIT and tries Connecting... In the phone, find the device called “G3” and add it, the password is “1234”. After authorization, the word Connected appears on the handsfree display, then the device with which it is Connected is named (for me it is “THL W8”) and the Bluetooth icon appears.

The device screen does not light up constantly; it goes out after 2 seconds. During operation, only the blue diode blinks - once every 3 seconds. When you press for 2 seconds, the display lights up and displays: CAR KIT, Bluetooth icon and battery status. The battery status is 4 bars, presumably each bar is 25% charged.

When getting into the car, if the devices are not authorized, you need to press the “ACCEPT/END END” button and the gadgets will be authorized automatically.

Charger

Full charging from the cigarette lighter took about 2.5 hours (with periodic turning off of the ignition). It is difficult to say how long the battery capacity lasts because charging from the solar module occurs constantly, regardless of the “ON/OFF” mode. This is indicated by a burning red diode around the “RECEIVE/END CALL” button. Moreover, depending on the intensity of the light flux, the brightness of the diode changes (the brighter the sun, the brighter the diode burns). While using it, I once turned off the device during the day for 4-5 hours. During this time, the sun charged the battery by 1 division. It works, devil!

Discharge

First of all, it depends on the intensity of calls and mode of use. I make 5-6 calls a day in the car, the rest of the time the device works in standby mode. In my case, a full battery charge lasted 1 week and 5 days. This is assuming that the device was used in relatively cloudy weather and was NEVER TURNED OFF. I believe that in the summer this figure will increase significantly. If the device is not turned off, it will constantly blink with a blue LED. At night, this may attract unnecessary attention from unnecessary passers-by.

Additional features

— You can download a phone book to the device. There is such a function in the menu - “ADD PB”, after activation of which the device sends a request to pair with the phone. After the operation is approved, all phone book numbers are sequentially copied to the device. After loading, the screen displays not a number, but a name in Latin letters. I don’t know whether the device supports the Russian language, since the days of the first Nokia I have kept all my contacts in Latin. There is also the possibility of changing the screen orientation (turning it upside down). This will be useful for those who want to place the device on the panel - the voice dialing function is declared. I checked it, it works. — Using the “V+” button, you can scroll through the list of 20 outgoing contacts — Using the “V-” button, scroll through the menu (read the instructions)

Sound

The power of the speaker installed in the device is unknown to me. Therefore, I will focus on personal impressions. The volume of the device has 6 levels. At level 6 the speaker rattles a little. At 5 - optimal: the volume is enough for comfortable communication and there is no rattling. The volume buttons are synchronized with the phone volume, i.e. with a change in volume on one, it changes on the second. The device also does not give an echo. Even with the radio on, you don't have to raise your voice. When communicating on the phone using a device, I regularly inquire about the quality of the connection. No complaints. A short video.

And here's what the G3 looks like in my car:

pros

:

+ Autonomous power consumption + Capacious battery + Excellent communication + Convenient operation

Minuses

:

- Honestly, I didn’t find it...

Let me summarize

Over the course of 3 years of steady Chinese dependence, I have purchased several hundred goods of various types: from light bulbs to tablets. This purchase is definitely one of the ten most successful! I recommend to all!

Speakerphone selection options

Due to the large availability of devices on the car market, it is quite difficult for car enthusiasts to choose a device that will meet all the requirements and properly perform its functions. Therefore, when choosing one, it is recommended to pay attention to such factors as:

  • Manufacturer. Hands-free communication in a car can only be achieved with a high-quality speakerphone. To do this, when choosing, you should pay attention to the country in which the device is manufactured. It is important to note that Chinese gadgets do not have sufficient reliability and durability due to the use of low-quality materials.
  • Battery capacity. It should be large enough so as not to bother yourself with frequent charging processes.
  • Fasteners This element must be reliable and convenient, otherwise the device may simply fall off.
  • It is mandatory to have the ability to charge the device from a cigarette lighter socket, which is more convenient than constantly removing the device and charging from other sources.
  • Availability of Russian language in the settings and use menu.
  • Price. As you know, the miser pays twice. Therefore, it is recommended to immediately purchase a more expensive speakerphone of good quality and use it for a long time, rather than buying a new one from time to time.

So, we figured out how to set up speakerphone in the car.

Example 3: Guard Communication System

One example of a comprehensive solution that uses public address and public address systems, as well as duplex public address intercoms, is the guard communication system.

GGS channel management, communication consoles

Maxikom systems based on universal switches provide incomparably broader capabilities than specialized communication consoles.

More precisely, they can do the same thing (communication consoles from other manufacturers include some PBX functions, but not all) and much more.

A one-way GHS can, if necessary, turn into a two-way one, both loudspeaking and telephone.
