The system must be initialized. To initialize the system, drive the vehicle straight for 5 seconds or more at a speed of approximately 35 km/h (kph) or higher.

If “ICS System Unavailable.” appears on the multi-information display and the ICS OFF indicator flashes

The sensor may be covered with ice, snow, dirt, etc. Remove ice, snow, dirt, etc. from the sensor to restore normal system operation. Additionally, due to ice forming on the sensor at low temperatures, a warning message may be displayed or the sensor may not be able to detect an object. As the ice melts, normal operation of the system will be restored.

If this message still appears even after cleaning the sensor, or appears even though the sensor is clean, have the vehicle checked by any authorized Lexus dealer or repair facility, or other qualified and technically qualified technician.

Initialization may not be completed after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery terminal. Initialize the system. (

If “ICS system malfunction. Please contact your dealer.” appears on the multi-information display and the ICS OFF indicator flashes

The system may be faulty. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or repair facility, or other qualified and technically qualified technician.

The company conducted research into the effectiveness of the ICS (Intelligent Clearance Sonar) system, which prevents “pedal misuse.” The main purpose of the system is to prevent you from pressing the accelerator pedal instead of the brake.

The company examined data from three models, the Toyota Alphard, Vellfire and Prius, that have ICS as standard. The study shows that the number of incidents caused by misplaced pedals has dropped sharply. Thus, the number of accidents caused by a driver who mixed up the pedals immediately decreased by 70%, and accidents that occurred while reversing decreased by 40%.

ICS sensors monitor a larger area than standard parking sensors. The system automatically applies the brakes if a collision is likely. The information screen also displays an overhead view of the vehicle to help the driver recognize potentially dangerous objects.

The survey included 2,500 accidents reported by insurance companies. They covered 63,000 vehicles. Of these, 26,000 cars were equipped with the ICS system.

What is VSC.exe?

VSC.exe is an executable file that is part of the VAIO Support Central program developed by Sony Corporation . The software is usually about 926.34 KB in size.

The .exe file name extension represents the executable file. In some cases, executable files can damage your computer. Please read the following to decide for yourself whether the VSC.exe file on your computer is a virus or Trojan horse that you should remove, or whether it is a valid Windows operating system file or a reliable application.

Recommended: Identifying errors related to VSC.exe (optional offer for Reimage - Website | License Agreement | Privacy Policy | Remove)

Is VSC.exe safe, or is it a virus or malware?

The first thing that will help you determine whether a file is a legitimate Windows process or a virus is the location of the executable file itself. For example, a process like VSC.exe should run from C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Support Central\VSC.exe and not elsewhere.

To confirm, open Task Manager, go to View -> Select Columns and select Image Path Name to add a location column to Task Manager. If you find a suspicious directory here, it may be a good idea to investigate this process further.

Another tool that can sometimes help you detect bad processes is Microsoft Process Explorer. Launch the program (it does not require installation) and activate "Check Legends" in the "Options" section. Now go to View -> Select Columns and add “Verified Signer” as one of the columns.

If the status of the Verified Subscriber process is listed as Unable to Verify, you should take a look at the process. Not all good Windows processes have a verified signature label, but none of them have bad ones.

The most important facts about VSC.exe:

  • Located in C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Support Central subfolder;
  • Publisher: Sony Corporation
  • Full Path: C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Support Central\VSC.exe
  • Help file:
  • Publisher URL: www.sony.com/pcsupport
  • Known to be up to 926.34 KB in size on most windows;

If you had any difficulties with this executable, you should determine if it is trustworthy before deleting VSC.exe. To do this, find this process in the task manager.

Find its location (it should be in C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Support Central) and compare the size etc with the above facts.

If you suspect you may be infected with a virus, you should try to fix it immediately. To remove the VSC.exe virus, you need to Download and install a complete security application such as Malwarebytes. Please note that not all tools can detect all types of malware, so you may need to try several options before you are successful.

In addition, the functionality of the virus may itself affect the removal of VSC.exe. In this case, you should enable Safe Mode with Networking , a safe environment that disables most processes and loads only the most essential services and drivers. When you can run a security program and complete system analysis .

Using traction control in real operation

p, blockquote 23,0,0,0,0 –>

Despite the fact that many modern cars have a traction control option, not all drivers know how to use this system. Let's try to figure out how to use the traction control system using the example of a Toyota RAV-4.

p, blockquote 24,0,0,0,0 –>

In normal driving mode, the “default” so to speak, the TRC system on Toyota is constantly activated. Its intervention in control is completely invisible at first glance, but when one or more wheels of the car hit a slippery section of the road, the system comes into action, “directing” the car in the desired direction and preventing the development of a skid.

Can I remove or delete VSC.exe?

You should not remove a secure executable file without good reason, as this may affect the performance of any associated programs that use the file. Remember to update your software and programs regularly to avoid future problems caused by corrupted files. Regarding software functionality issues, check for driver and software updates frequently to avoid or avoid such issues from occurring at all.

According to various online sources, 8% of people delete this file, so it may be harmless , but it is recommended to check the reliability of this executable file yourself to determine whether it is safe or a virus. The best diagnosis for these suspicious files is a full system analysis with Reimage . If the file is classified as malicious, these applications also remove VSC.exe and get rid of associated malware.

However, if it is not a virus and you need to delete VSC.exe, then you can uninstall VAIO Support Central from your computer using its uninstaller, which should be located at: RunDll32 C:\Program Files1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\ PROFES ~1\RunTime\10\50\Intel32\Ctor.dll, LaunchSetup "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{8. If you are unable to find its uninstaller, you may need to uninstall VAIO Support Central to completely delete VSC.exe. You can use the Add or Remove Programs feature in the Windows Control Panel.

  • 1. From the Start Menu (for Windows 8, right-click in the lower left corner of the screen), click Panel and then under Programs : o Windows Vista/7/8.1/10: Click Uninstall a program . o Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs .
  • 2. When you find the VAIO Support Central , click on it, and then: o Windows Vista / 7 / 8.1 / 10: Click Uninstall . o Windows XP: Click the Uninstall or Change/Delete tab (to the right of the program).
  • 3. Follow the instructions to uninstall VAIO Support Central .

In Toyota cars TRC OFF - what is this button and how to use it

p, blockquote 27,0,0,0,0 –>

In order to disable the stabilization system, as already mentioned, the driver will need to press the button labeled “TRC off” on the center console of your Toyota. This should be done as consciously as possible - only if wheel slip is really a necessary condition.

p, blockquote 28,0,0,0,0 –>

p, blockquote 29,0,0,1,0 –>

In addition to the above-mentioned off-road driving, it also makes sense to disable the traction control in cases where intensive acceleration of the car is necessary (for example, to overcome difficult sections on the road by “moving”).

p, blockquote 30,0,0,0,0 –>

It is worth mentioning separately the fact that in the Toyota crossover TRC is not completely disabled, that is, pressing the “TRC off” key only briefly deactivates the system. In addition, the system automatically turns on when the speed reaches 40 kilometers per hour, as indicated by the inscription “TRC on” on the dashboard.

p, blockquote 31,0,0,0,0 –> adsp-pro-2 –>

Accordingly, if you need to turn it off again, the button will have to be pressed again. This precaution by the manufacturer is justified by safety standards, since today traction control is considered one of the most effective safety systems.

p, blockquote 32,0,0,0,0 –>

In fact, this statement is supported by statistics on road accidents in different countries, and many independent organizations are lobbying for the introduction of legislation requiring the use of TRC systems on all cars sold on the market, regardless of configuration.

Common VSC.exe error messages

The most common VSC.exe errors that can appear are:

• "VSC.exe application error." • "VSC.exe error." • “An error has occurred in the VSC.exe application. The application will be closed. We apologize for the inconvenience." • "VSC.exe is not a Win32 application." • "VSC.exe is not running." • "VSC.exe not found." • "Cannot find VSC.exe." • “Error starting program: VSC.exe.” • "Faulting Application Path: VSC.exe."

These .exe error messages may appear during installation of a program, while running its supporting software, VAIO Support Central, during Windows startup or shutdown, or even during installation of the Windows operating system. Keeping a record of when your VSC.exe error occurs is important information when it comes to troubleshooting.

EBD system

1. Purpose.

The abbreviation EBD stands for Electronic Brake Force Distribution or, translated into Russian, “Brake Force System”. The main task of the system is to prevent the rear wheels from locking by controlling the brakes on the rear axle of the car. This feature is easy to explain. Most cars are built in such a way that the rear axle takes on less of the load. Therefore, to improve vehicle stability on the road, the front wheels should lock before the rear wheels.

When heavy braking occurs, the load on the rear wheels decreases due to the shift in the center of gravity. As a result, instead of effective braking, you can get wheel locking. The purpose of the EBD system is to eliminate such a problem. In this case, the operating algorithm itself is set programmatically and is a kind of addition to the ABS system.

Thus, the braking force system is based on standard ABS, but at the same time performs a broader function. Common names for the system data are Elektronishe Bremskraftverteilung or Electronic Brake Force Distribution. The name of the system may vary among different manufacturers, but the principle of operation remains the same.

2. Construction features.

If we consider the system in more detail, its operation is based on cyclical execution of tasks. In this case, several main phases are included in one cycle:

  • maintaining blood pressure levels;
  • releasing the pressure level to the required level;
  • rise in pressure level.

The ABS control unit collects data from sensors that monitor wheel speed, and then compares the forces of the rear and front wheels. If the difference is greater than a specified value, then the principle of distribution of forces of the braking system is activated.

Based on the current difference in signals from each of the sensors, the control unit makes a decision regarding the exact moment to lock the rear wheels. At the same time, it gives a command to close the intake valves in the brake cylinder circuits (naturally, for the rear axle). At this stage, the pressure is maintained at a given level and remains unchanged. In turn, the front wheel intake valves open and remain in this position. The pressure in the front circuit continues to increase until the wheels are locked.

If the rear wheels continue to lock, the exhaust valves open. As a result, the pressure in the brake cylinders of the rear wheels decreases to the required limit. If the angular speed of the rear axle wheels begins to increase and exceeds a certain parameter, then the pressure in the circuit will increase and the wheels will brake.

As a rule, the force distribution system stops working when the front wheels lock. At the same time, the ABS system is activated, preventing the wheels from locking and allowing the driver to maneuver even when the brake pedal is pressed sharply.

How to fix VSC.exe

Keeping your computer neat and tidy is one of the best ways to avoid problems with VAIO Support Central. This means running a scan for malware, cleaning your hard drive with cleanmgr and sfs/scannow to remove unnecessary programs, monitoring any startup programs (using msconfig), and turning on automatic Windows updates. Remember to always make regular backups or at least identify restore points.

If you have a more serious problem, try to remember the last thing you did or the last thing you installed before the problem. Use the resmon command to determine the processes causing your problem. Even in case of serious problems, instead of reinstalling Windows, you should try to repair your installation or, in the case of Windows 8, by running the command DISM.exe / Online / Clean-image / Restore Health . This allows you to restore the operating system without losing data.

To help you analyze the VSC.exe process on your computer, you may find the following programs useful: Security Task Manager displays all running Windows tasks, including built-in hidden processes such as keyboard and browser monitoring or startup entries. The Unified Security Risk Rating indicates the likelihood that it is spyware, malware, or a potential Trojan horse. This antivirus detects and removes spyware, adware, Trojans, keyloggers, malware and trackers from your hard drive.

Additional features of ESC, DSC, ESP, VDC, VSC, VSA systems

The exchange rate stability system, in addition to its main task - dynamic stabilization of the vehicle, can also perform additional tasks, such as preventing the vehicle from tipping over, preventing collisions, stabilizing the road train and others.

SUVs, due to their high center of gravity, are prone to rollover when entering a turn at high speed. To prevent this situation, a rollover prevention system, or Roll Over Prevention (ROP), is designed. In order to increase stability, the front wheels of the car are braked and engine torque is reduced.

To implement the collision avoidance function, the ESC, DSC, ESP, VDC, VSC, VSA systems additionally require adaptive cruise control. Initially, the driver is given audio and visual signals; if there is no reaction, the pressure in the brake system is automatically built up.

If the stability control system performs the function of stabilizing a road train on vehicles equipped with a towing device, then it prevents trailer yaw by braking the wheels and reducing engine torque.

Another useful function, which is especially necessary when driving on serpentine roads, is to increase the efficiency of the brakes when heated (called Over Boost or Fading Brake Support). It works simply - when the brake pads heat up, the pressure in the brake system automatically increases.

Finally, Dynamic Stability Control can automatically remove moisture from the brake discs. This function is activated when the windshield wipers are turned on at speeds above 50 km/h. The principle of operation is a short-term regular increase in pressure in the brake system, as a result of which the pads are pressed against the brake discs, they heat up and the water that gets on them is partially removed by the pads, and partly evaporates.

In addition to ABS, TSC, ESP, there is also an electronic program called EBD - electronic brake force distribution. This system usually acts as a complement to ABS, TSC and ESP, optimizing primarily the braking forces on the rear wheels.

When is EBD in demand? Under normal conditions, the main load falls on the brakes of the front wheels, which have better contact with the road, because when braking the car seems to “peck” its nose, redistributing the weight to the front. But imagine that you need to brake when the car is going uphill - the main load now falls on the rear wheels. The EBD system is designed for such cases.

How Brake Assist works

A system has appeared designed to improve the performance of the brakes - Brake Assist System (BAS).
BAS is activated by a command from a sensor that has detected excessively rapid movement of the brake pedal, indicating the start of emergency braking, and ensures that the maximum possible fluid pressure is created in the brakes. In vehicles with ABS, fluid pressure is limited to prevent wheel locking. Therefore, BAS is designed to create maximum pressure in the braking system only at the initial moment of an emergency stop of the vehicle. But even this is enough to reduce the braking distance by 15% when braking from a speed of 100 km/h

. This reduction in braking distance can be decisive: BAS can save someone's life.

The potential of autobraking is enormous. Even the simplest systems save lives: if the speed before impact is reduced by 5%, the likelihood of death is reduced by 25%. And according to real accident statistics in six European countries, auto braking systems reduce the risk of injury in an accident by 40%.

Unlike BAS and contrary to popular belief,
ABS and ESP do not reduce braking distance, but, on the contrary, often increase it
. Ultimately, traction is determined by the tread pattern, section width and tire performance, and ABS and ESP do not allow the tread to show “character”. On asphalt, the increase in braking distance is insignificant (or does not appear), but on loose snow, gravel, and loose soil, the loss in braking distance can reach 20%.

However, on a slippery icy surface, ABS support, on the contrary, ensures a reduction in the distance to a complete stop by 15% compared to a car without ABS, the wheels of which were skidded to a stop. The main thing is that ABS in a critical situation retains the ability to control the car, and ESP also helps to return the car to a safe trajectory.

How VSC works

Another new feature in braking technology is the VSC system.
It combines the advantages and capabilities of ABS, traction control and lateral drift control. It also compensates for some of the inherent shortcomings of each system, which ensures confident driving even on winding, slippery roads. The VSC sensor monitors engine and transmission operating modes, rotation speed of each wheel, brake pressure, steering angle, lateral acceleration and yaw, and transmits the resulting data to the electronic control unit. The VSC microcomputer, having processed information from the sensors and assessed the situation, makes the only correct decision for a particular situation and issues a command to the actuators. In situations that could become an emergency due to excessive confidence or due to insufficient driver experience, the VSC system will correct his actions

, will correct the error and prevent the car from getting out of control.

Suppose the car enters a bend at too high a speed, and the driver, realizing that he made a mistake in his choice, makes another mistake - he brakes sharply or turns the steering wheel excessively in the direction of the turn. Having received information from the sensors, the VSC system instantly registers that the car is in a critical position, and, preventing the wheels from locking to the point of skidding, redistributes the braking forces on the wheels to counteract the car's rotation around the vertical axis.

Why should owners of high-end cars have important safety features? They must be installed on all vehicles to protect the driver and passengers. In the near future, VSC will become commonplace, just like ABS.
