Error codes (fault codes) for Nissan vehicles

Manufacturers of modern cars equip them with highly complex control systems consisting of electronics and a wide variety of indicators. With their help, messages about the state of affairs in different nodes of the machine are received and processed. These include the engine, brake system, battery and lambda probe (oxygen sensor), among others. It is one of the most important control devices and signals the remaining oxygen in the exhaust gases. A malfunction of the lambda probe threatens to disrupt the smooth operation of the car.

Operating principle

The oxygen sensor is a complex design. Its functional parts include an electrolyte, on which tips are attached on different sides for sucking gas mixtures - oxygen and waste fuel. Under them there is a sensitive element, which at temperatures up to 400 degrees reads signals and analyzes the potential difference. The listed parts are sealed in a metal case. Wires go to it. Depending on the model, their number can vary from 1 to 4. They are responsible for the operation of the sensor - they supply power, transmit signals to the control unit and ground the device. With a sufficient volume of oxygen in the combustion mixture, the engine efficiency will be high . But like other systems, the lambda probe also fails.

Causes of error P0135

P0135 is an oxygen sensor (bank 1, sensor 1) heated circuit fault. This error code tells the driver that there is a malfunction in the heating mechanism of the first lambda probe, the one installed before the converter. Error p0135 can be determined using a car scanner or self-diagnosis (using a paper clip and counting the blinks of the check icon on the instrument panel). Since there may not be other symptoms indicating a problem with heating the oxygen sensor.

The behavior of the car, with the occurrence of a malfunction of the 1st lambda, may not affect the operation of the engine in any way. This will only be indicated by the “CHECK ENGINE” indicator. Fuel consumption, as a rule, does not increase, or rises, but only slightly (unlike error DK2, code P0136), unless there is a slight loss of dynamics and a slightly more hysterical exhaust sound, as well as a pungent odor. Everything may depend on the make of the car and the characteristics of the control controller.

Error p0135 is written to the ECM memory when the engine is running, when the temperature of the converter is significantly higher than set, and the resistance of the oxygen sensor is greater than required. This code is recorded in the ECU event archive and can be displayed even if the problem is resolved, therefore, in order to establish the presence of a real problem in the system, you need not only a self-diagnosis mode, but also a testing mode, and reset the existing entries in the archive.

There are not so many malfunctions that have arisen with the oxygen sensor heater, and by checking them with a multimeter you can easily determine them yourself:

  1. Poor contact in the sensor power supply (oxides);
  2. Broken wiring/short circuit in the heater circuit;
  3. DC failure;
  4. The presence of other errors that caused the failure.

This is interesting: Exterior of Lexus PX 350
Thus, in order to eliminate the cause of the exhaust gas heater error popping up, you need to check the lambda probe one by one.

First, we make sure that the sensor wiring is intact, and then we check the condition of the contact chip (we clean the oxidation). After which it would be logical to check the resistance of the lambda heating. On a warm engine, at a normal temperature of 20 °C, we remove the chip from the sensor and measure the resistance between two wires of the same color (they are supplied with 12V power).

If there is no resistance or significantly higher than expected (≈3-9 Ohms, may differ depending on the technical characteristics), the DC should be replaced with a new one. In addition to resistance, you can also check the number of deflections of the voltmeter needle in 10 seconds. and if the sensor readings do not change, then in this case the error code p0134 would be present in the memory (no sensor signal activity).

Having done all of the above, cleaned the contacts or replaced the sensor, error P0135 should disappear after a few minutes of engine operation. Having a computer at hand with a special program installed, you can check this and delete the event recorded in the archive. You can also reset the error by removing the terminal from the battery.

Is the sensor broken?

The best time to check all vehicle performance systems will be the next technical inspection. However, there are situations when it becomes necessary to find out the reasons for the poor performance of the oxygen sensor earlier. How to check the lambda probe yourself?

Parameters by which reconciliation takes place:

  • voltage in the heating circuit;
  • "reference" voltage;
  • serviceability of the heater in the sensor;
  • lambda signal.

This means that it will not be difficult to fully evaluate the operation of the lambda probe.

How does a mechanic diagnose a P0325 code?

When diagnosing this error code, a mechanic will do the following:

  • Reads all stored error codes using an OBD-II scanner
  • Reads all stored data, including coolant temperature, operating time, vehicle speed, and engine speed, to determine when the error first appeared.
  • Clears all error codes from computer memory
  • Test drive the vehicle to determine if the P0325 code appears again and to confirm that there is a problem
  • Start the engine and check the operation of the knock sensor
  • Check the resistance of the knock sensor
  • If no problem is found, check the ECM according to the manufacturer's procedure

Caution: "Voltage"

In order to find out whether voltage is supplied to the heating circuit, you will need additional equipment. The signal is measured with a dial or digital voltmeter or a more modern multimeter.

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Turn on the ignition without disconnecting the sensor connector.
  2. Insert the probes into the wire connectors.
  3. The monitor should display ~12 V. This value corresponds to the battery voltage.

ATTENTION!

  • “+” goes to the heater directly through the fuse. If it is missing, you need to check the chain links: “battery-fuse-oxygen”.
  • “—” is transmitted via electronic control systems. If it is missing, you need to check the circuit connectors leading to the control unit.

The reference voltage is checked with the same voltmeter or you can use a multimeter.

Algorithm of actions:

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Measure the voltage between the signal wire and ground.
  3. The value of the number should be 0.45 volts.

If the readings differ by 0.2 V or more, this indicates a problem in the signal circuit or poor contact to ground.

How to fix Error Code 29 in Valorant

This problem is a little more complex than Code Error 7. If you are using antivirus software, you may have encountered Code Error 29. This is because your firewall is preventing Valorant from launching correctly.

There are a few key points to consider before restarting your game if you encounter this error. First, review your antivirus program and make sure that Valorant does not have any threat. Then you can try loading the game as administrator. If these simple tips don't help, use the instructions below to make the firewall allow the game to run.

  1. Use the Windows search bar and type: “Allow this app through a firewall.”
  2. In this section of Control Panel, click Change Settings at the top of the window. Then click on the “Allow another application” button at the bottom.
  3. Click Browse and navigate to the Valorant launcher file ( ... \Riot Games\VALORANT\live\VALORANT.exe ). In the same way, you need to add the Riot Vanguard anti-cheat ( ...\Riot Vanguard\vgc.exe ) and the launcher ( ...\Riot Games\Riot Client\RiotClientServices.exe ).
  4. Check all the boxes for all three programs in the Firewall Exceptions category and click OK.
  5. All components should now be allowed through the firewall to avoid error 29.

The remaining known problems can be resolved quite easily and most often require a simple restart of the client. You can view the full list of known issues on the official Valorant support website.

Oxygen sensor signal

The most difficult and important test of a lambda probe is to evaluate its signal. To do this, you will need an already known multimeter or voltmeter. There are newer computerized testers at service stations, but in a garage you can do without them.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. The engine starts.
  2. The engine warms up to operating temperature.
  3. Probes are connected between the signal wire and the ground wire.
  4. Engine speed should be increased to 3000 per minute.
  5. Changes in the numerical values of the oxygen sensor are recorded.

The tester's monitor should note a jump in the range of 0.1 to 0.9 volts . If the numbers are different, there is a need for a new lambda probe.

Having learned how to check the working condition of the oxygen sensor, you can be sure that you will be able to avoid being scammed at a car service center.
